Notably PR is a PR and AI visibility agency for mid-market companies. We help AI and deep-tech companies earn coverage that stands out from the flood of AI news, then track whether AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini repeat it.
TL;DR
- AI news is everywhere, so “we use AI” isn’t a story anymore. AI PR works when it finds what changes for real people and leads with that instead of the technology.
- We’ve done it for AI and deep-tech companies from pre-seed to Series B. TealBook earned 500+ placements on its way to a $50 million Series B. AngelQ’s $4.75 million seed round landed a LinkedIn News exclusive and 26 more stories.
- Notably PR is a PR and AI visibility agency for mid-market companies, and the team behind MINUTES, the Attention Gap and the Expert Vacuum. Co-founders Carly Martinetti and Carin Warner lead a fully remote senior team.
Every company says it’s an AI company now.
Updated October 2026.
Reporters who cover AI hear from a lot of companies, and most of them sound the same. Faster. Smarter. Agentic. Built on the latest model.
So “we added AI” stopped being news a while ago. A seed round shows up the same week as a billion-dollar raise. A product launch shows up next to three others that claim to do the same thing.
The AI companies that break through give a reporter something else, like a person whose day actually changes, a number nobody’s seen yet, or a fight over what the technology should be allowed to do. The technology is the reason the story exists. It’s almost never the story itself.
That’s the job of an AI PR agency, the way we see it. We find the human reason to care about what you built, then get it in front of the reporters who’ll write it.
Why most AI pitches get ignored
We see the same few habits again and again.
The pitch is written in Inside Voice. “AI-native.” “Agentic workflows.” “A copilot for procurement.” It all means something to the team that built it and almost nothing to a reader who’s never used the product.
The headline is capped before anyone pitches it. We call that the Headline Ceiling. If the best headline you can picture is “Startup Launches AI Agent for X,” the story tops out as a trade brief, however good the product is.
The claims can’t be checked. Reporters are wary of AI hype, and they should be. A pitch that says “10x faster” with no benchmark, customer or method behind it gets deleted. A pitch with a named customer and a number they can verify gets a reply.
And then there’s the blast, where one pitch goes to every AI reporter on a list. When we went back through 1,225 of our own pitches, the ones written for a single reporter got an interested reply 19.6% of the time. The same kind of pitch sent to eight or more reporters? 3.9%.
AI PR for every kind of news
Here’s what that looks like across the moments AI and deep-tech companies usually bring us, with a real client for each.
| The moment | What we did | Where it worked |
|---|---|---|
| A small seed round | Made the round about the problem, not the money | AngelQ raised $4.75 million while billion-dollar AI rounds filled the headlines. We framed it around a parent-built, safer internet for kids. LinkedIn News took it as an exclusive, 26 more stories followed and new investors asked about the next round. |
| A new category | Gave people a phrase they could repeat | We repositioned TealBook, a supplier data company that uses AI, from “supplier discovery” to “supplier intelligence.” It earned 500+ placements, including Forbes, VentureBeat and Business Insider, on the way from seed to a $50 million Series B in under two and a half years. |
| Hard-to-explain research | Translated the science without dumbing it down | nference, which makes biomedical knowledge computable, published COVID-19 research with the Mayo Clinic. It became hundreds of stories, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, with 8.3 million estimated views. |
| A crowded Series B | Paired the funding news with executive thought leadership | Edge Delta’s $63 million Series B ran in TechCrunch, and executive thought leadership in trade and business outlets kept it going. That added up to 27 stories and 4.3 million readers in under six months. |
| Deep-tech hardware | Staged moments a reporter could see | For Rosotics, which builds large-scale metal 3D printers, we went from stealth launch to a machine reveal at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, Arizona. Coverage followed in SpaceNews, New Atlas, 3D Printing Industry and Payload. |
| AI and jobs | Turned proprietary data into expert commentary | Ladders data and commentary helped reporters explain what AI is doing to work, including in The Wall Street Journal. |
How an AI PR program works
- First, we find the Attention Gap. We read your news the way a reporter would and figure out how far it is from what a reader would care about. For AI companies, that gap is usually wide, because the team is closest to the model and the reader is closest to the outcome.
- Then we find the human stakes. That means talking to the people closest to the work -- the founder, an engineer, a customer -- until we hit the detail that makes an outsider lean in.
- We pick one reason to care from MINUTES, our framework for the seven reasons people pay attention, and lead with it.
- We make every claim checkable. Benchmarks with a method, customers who’ll talk and numbers with a source. That’s what gets an AI story past a skeptical reporter.
- We build your experts’ voices. Reporters keep covering AI, and on many of its questions nobody has become the obvious expert yet. We call that an Expert Vacuum, and filling one with your founder or researcher keeps you in the story between announcements.
- And we measure what AI tools say about you. Your buyers are probably asking ChatGPT and Gemini about your category already. We check whether you come up, and we track it over time.
AI PR, PR for AI companies, AI-powered PR: which one you’re hiring
“AI PR agency” means different things depending on who’s selling it, so it helps to know which one you need.
PR for AI companies is media relations for companies building AI or deep tech. It’s judged by coverage, credibility with reporters and investors, and who calls next. We do this.
PR for AI visibility is earning the coverage that AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity draw on, so they name you when someone asks about your category. We do this too, for AI companies and everyone else. More on how we approach AI visibility.
AI-powered PR is an agency or platform that uses AI to write and send pitches at volume. It can be cheap and fast, but our own numbers show why blasting doesn’t work, and reporters can usually tell.
So before you sign with anyone, ask which one they mean!
AI PR and AI visibility
For AI companies especially, the next buyer often asks an AI tool first. “What’s the best AI tool for supplier data?” “Which observability platforms should I look at?” The answer comes from news coverage, expert commentary and rankings, so a story that earns coverage today gives those tools something credible to repeat.
That’s how it worked for Gerben IP. Since we started working together in October 2024, Josh Gerben has become the trademark attorney the press quotes, and ChatGPT and Gemini named him first in 39 of 40 answers across reporter and buyer questions. The firm’s leads from AI tools grew from about 20 a month in early 2025 to an average of 150 a month in 2026.
Named ideas travel especially far. A term like “supplier intelligence” gives a reporter something to quote and an AI tool something to repeat… with your name attached. All six of ours are in the Notably glossary. If you’re comparing agencies for this, here’s our side-by-side of the best PR agencies for AI visibility.
How to check our claims
We’d want proof too, so here it is.
- Every case study on this page links to the stories themselves.
- The pitch numbers come from 1,225 pitches sent from co-founder Carly Martinetti’s inbox between December 2020 and mid-September 2026. It’s one agency’s inbox, not a controlled experiment. You can read the full method on our site.
- The Gerben IP lead numbers come from the firm’s own lead tracking, and the AI answers are from our own runs of ChatGPT and Gemini. The case study explains how.
- Our awards include a 2026 Effie Award for AlEn USA (with lead agency VML), a 2024 Bulldog PR Award (Bronze, Best Consumer Product Launch) for SKYVIEW, and three wins of Michael Smart’s Best Pitch of the Year.
- Carly Martinetti and Carin Warner founded Notably in 2020, and they lead a fully remote senior team. The team you meet is the team on your account.

FAQ
What is an AI PR agency?
An AI PR agency is a public relations firm that helps companies building artificial intelligence earn media coverage and credibility. The term is also used for agencies that help companies show up in AI answers, and for agencies that use AI to automate PR. Notably PR does the first two.
What is the best PR agency for AI companies?
Notably PR is a PR and AI visibility agency for mid-market companies that works with AI and deep-tech companies from pre-seed to Series B, including TealBook, AngelQ, nference and Edge Delta. The best fit depends on your stage, budget and goals, so ask any agency for AI clients like you and links to the coverage it earned them.
How do AI startups get media coverage?
AI startups get coverage by leading with what changes for people instead of the technology, backing every claim with a benchmark, customer or number a reporter can check, and pitching one reporter at a time. In Notably’s review of 1,225 of its own pitches, one-to-one pitches drew interested replies 19.6% of the time, versus 3.9% for pitches sent to eight or more reporters.
Do you work with early-stage AI startups?
Yes. Notably has worked with AI and deep-tech companies from pre-seed (Rosotics) and seed (AngelQ) through Series B (TealBook and Edge Delta). Most of its clients are mid-market companies, usually between $20 million and $500 million in revenue.
How do you avoid AI hype?
Every claim in a Notably pitch has to be checkable, with a benchmark and its method, a customer who will talk or a number with a source. Reporters who cover AI are skeptical of hype, and a story built on proof travels further than one built on adjectives.
What is the difference between AI PR and AI visibility?
AI PR usually means media relations for companies building AI. AI visibility is how often, and how favorably, AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity mention a company when someone asks about its category. Earned coverage feeds both, which is why Notably does them together.
Does Notably use AI in its own work?
Yes, for research, monitoring and measurement. AI agents tagged the 1,225 pitches in our pitch review, and a separate AI model reads every answer in our AI visibility tracking. The strategy, the story and the relationships with reporters stay with our senior team.
Can an AI PR agency guarantee coverage?
No, and nobody honestly can. Reporters decide what to cover. What an agency can do is find a story worth covering, pitch it to the right people and report what happened.
